Review: The Citizen - Half-Life 2 SP Mod

The Citizen is a newest single-player modification for Half-life 2. The mod takes place in City 17, but this time, you play as one of the citizens of this city.

Here's the mod's summary: The Citizen is set parallel to the events of the original Half-Life 2. The player takes the role of an ordinary man, pushed over the edge by the oppressive regime controlling his life. His home trashed, his family dead, The Citizen leaves his apartment for the last time. He seeks new friends, and a way to help the human resistance to smash the iron grip of the Combine. What follows is a winding tale of betrayal, determination and grief. Many obstacles lie in his path which require a sleek combination of agility, stealth, intelligence, and sheer violence to overcome.

Let's start with the review:

Story: The story is very simple but interesting. You're a citizen, that one day, after so much suffering because of the Combine, you probably get angry of them, and decides to finally join the resistance. The building where you live is in lockdown, and you'll have to find a way out of there. After making your way into a resistance base, the serious bussines starts!

Gameplay: I really enjoed the gameplay of this mod, there's puzzles, super cool infiltrations to a combine communications base, and there's alot of shooting, but it don't gets to much boring. I specially loved the infiltration to the combine base, you have to use stealth and find combine disguises to use, and get pass through their barricades, It's really cool.

Maps: The maps are very well made too. There's alot of atmosphere and adrenaline when fighting or walking unseen into the combine base. The maps are all detailed, there's also voice acting, and it doesn't sucks so much, It's pretty cool. I loved this mod.

Overall: A really great mod, a nice and involving story, alot of fighting, puzzles and infiltration into the combine's base. I really recommend this mod, and there's a continuation on the way, which makes me very happy!
